Sono stati annunciati oggi dalla viva voce del presidente dell’Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts e Tom Sherak e l’attrice Mo’nique (premio Oscar come migliore attrice non protagonista nell’edizione 2010 per Precious) tutti i candidati al più ambito dei premi del grande schermo.
L’83esima edizione degli Oscar si terrà domenica 27 febbraio e la cerimonia sarà condotta da James Franco e Anne Hathaway, tra le più giovani star a calcare il palco dell’Academy in veste di padroni di casa.
A fare man bassa di nomination sono stati, come da pronostici Il discorso del Re che ha strappato 12 nomination e Il grinta dei fratelli Coen con 10 nomination.
Presente nella decina dei migliori film anche Toy Story 3, terzo film d’animazione dopo La bella e la bestia e Up, a essere incluso in questa categoria. Assente invece il film di Ben Affleck The Town, tra i papabili nei pronostici. Assente anche dalla categoria Miglior regia Christopher Nolan per il suo gettonatissimo Inception che compare però in quella di Miglior film e Sceneggiatura originale.
A sfidare due colossi come Toy Story 3 e Dragon Trainer nella categoria Miglior Film Animato è L’illusionista, del francese Sylvain Chomet, già nominato nel 2004 per il suo Appuntamento a Belleville.
