Il più importante premio televisivo negli Stati Uniti d’America, gli Emmy Awards, entra nel vivo con l’annuncio delle infinite nomination. La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà il 12 settembre 2022 e anche quest’anno sono candidate grandi serie, attori e attrici del cinema prestati alla televisione e non mancano esclusioni eccellenti.
A guardare tutti dall’alto è la serie Succession, con 25 nomination. Non ha solo migliorato le 18 ricevute la passata stagione, ma ha anche stabilito un record incredibile: la serie distribuita in Italia su Sky ha raggiunto quota 14 nomination nelle categorie dedicate agli attori. Oltre ai vari Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, J. Smith-Cameron, Kieran Culkin e gli altri volti regular della serie, sono stati infatti candidate anche guest star come Hope Davis, Adrien Brody e Alexander Skarsgard.
La seconda serie più nominata dell’anno agli Emmy Awards è la comedy Ted Lasso, ma tra le candidature trovano spazio anche lo show Netflix Squid Game, Stranger Things, Euphoria (che ha fatto infrangere a Zendaya un record incredibile e ha permesso a Sydney Sweeney di ottenere una doppia candidatura assieme a quella per The White Lotus) e Only Murders in the Building. Proprio quest’ultima ha però fatto storcere il naso a molti fan: sono stati candidati sia Steve Martin che Martin Short, ma non Selena Gomez.
L’attrice guida così la sfortunata lista degli snobbati di quest’anno, che a sorpresa conta anche Yellowstone, This is us e Black-ish, queste ultime due arrivate entrambe all’ultima stagione. La Marvel esce dal listone parzialmente insoddisfatta: nessuno dei suoi show è stato nominato nelle principali categorie, ma Loki, Moon Knight e Hawkeye hanno comunque ricevuto numerose candidature tecniche. Nello specifico: 2 per la serie di Jeremy Renner, 6 per quella di Tom Hiddleston e 8 per l’esordio di Oscar Isaac.
Restando in casa Marvel, da segnalare la nomination postuma agli Emmy Awards per Chadwick Boseman: il compianto attore protagonista di Black Panther è candidato nella categoria Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance per il suo doppiaggio nella serie animata What if…?.
