Nella notte tra il 5 e il 6 gennaio al Beverly Hilton Hotel di Beverly Hills, in California, avrà luogo la 77ma edizione dei Golden Globes, riconoscimenti assegnati dalla Hollywood Foreign Press, la stampa estera di Hollywood, con i quali la stagione dei premi entra ufficialmente nel vivo per poi culminare con gli Oscar del prossimo 9 febbraio. 

La consegna delle ambite statuette si potrà seguire in diretta dall’Italia su Sky Atlantic (canali 110 e 111 di Sky) e SkyTg24 (canali 100 e 500, ad esclusione del canale 50 del digitale terrestre) a partire dalle 2 ora italiana, mentre il collegamento con il red carpet inizierà all’1. La cerimonia, trasmessa dall’emittente NBC, sarà preceduta dal tappeto rosso trasmesso in esclusiva sui canali Facebook del premio.

A condurre la cerimonia ci penserà ancora una volta l’attore e stand-up comedian Ricky Gervais, alla sua quinta e ultima conduzione dopo quelle tenute a battesimo dal 2010 al 2012 e nel 2016. Sarà assegnato ad Ellen DeGeneres il Carol Burnett Award, premio istituito nel 2019, per il suo «eccezionale contributo in ambito artistico», mentre il Golden Globe alla carriera intitolato a Cecil B. DeMille andrà a Tom Hanks.
