Stasera verranno assegnati i tanto attesi Oscar 2014, ma ieri è stata la volta degli Independent Spirit Awards, i premi del cinema indipendente americano, come da tradizione vengono consegnati il giorno prima della notte degli Oscar e svelano in anteprima quali sono i film che avranno un posto d’onore durante la cerimonia più attesa dal mondo del cinema. Lo scorso anno fu Il lato positivo di David O. Russell a dominare, mentre quest’anno è 12 Years a Slave di Steve McQueen (Shame) a raccogliere il maggior numero di statuette. Il film di Steve McQueen vince come miglior film, miglior regista e migliore attrice non protagonista (Lupita Nyong’O). Il premio come miglior attore è andato a Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club), mentre Cate Blanchett ha ottenuto quello come migliore attrice (Blue Jasmine).
